The Propeller Club is a non profit-making managerial Association. The Association stands for any aspects of the maritime industry with members living in the United States and in many other countries. Its activities are focused on the constant improvement of the sea trade community and maritime business around the world with a very large scope covering various functions described as follows. 1.- To promote and support maritime business and trade including all parties involved in navigation, commerce and services to develop economical and social progress. 2.- To work out a team co-operation policy in order to improve the relationship between Authorities and users on behalf of the maritime and Ports environment. 3.- To enhance the development of international trade through the contribution of its members in production issues, professional training and foreign trade related to sea traffic throughout the world. 4.- To co-operate with other managerial organisations with similar objectives focused on the development of the world wide trade businesses, in particular those related to maritime traffic and the port environment linked to the navigation. 5.- To encourage and promote professional training plans among young people as well as management information programs among its members related to overseas trade. To achieve these goals, in addition to working committ ees assigned to investigate and analyse specific issues of common interest, monthly meetings take place with the attendance of personalities outstanding in different skills making a presentation of their knowledge and experience in their specific professional scope, always related to issues involved with the Club's policy and its members philosophy. PROPELLER CLUB PROSPECTIVE Ocean freight in the world is subjected to economical variations, politics strain and labour strife according to each particular social economical situation the world may be going through. The objectives of the Propeller Club, among others, aim to alert public opinion, Administration and authorities about the problems endured in the development of sea navigation, overseas trade and ports environment, by offering action alternatives and their feasibility in various specific issues in order to solve those problems. This is one of the main objectives of the Propeller Club in Europe and throughout the world, wich gathers nowadays over fifteen hundred members outside the USA integrated in Clubs spread within several countries, Spain, France, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, England, Mauritius and Turkey. The lauching of further European Clubs is expected shortly in Germany, Netherlands, Check Republic and other Central European countries. The Propeller Club Barcelona 201 was founded in 1994, gathering nowadays over 40 active members. |
