The Propeller Club was founded in New York in 1927 by a group of businessmen to promote and strengthen the overseas trade with the United States, owing to the recession caused by the First World War. Starting from 1945, after the Second World War, The Propeller Club has expanded to many other countries giving evidence of its important role in the sea trade environment and its influence in the port activities related to businesses in world wide trade. Already in 1996 more than ten thousand people from over one hundred international ports within America and Europe were members of the Propeller Club. As from today, the activities developed by all the Propeller Clubs spread around the world, mainly in Europe, give evidence of the objectives of constant support and promotion to the international sea traffic, grouping together under the name of International Ports. |
